Friends of the Goshen Library Minutes Meeting Date: January 3, 2012
The meeting was called to order at 5:00p.m. with the following members in attendance:

The minutes of the December meeting were approved as presented.
The committee approved the $135 renewal fee for passes to the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks. Several members have visited the museum and found it very interesting and informative. Twenty five people used the pass last year.
A new sign with the library’s new hours will be installed on the front door.
On February 4, the library is hosting a program entitled “Let’s Talk Samplers” which will be presented by Susan Jerome. Ms. Jerome has delivered other talks at the library including one on quilts and another on lace. The committee approved a payment of $100 to Ms. Jerome.
Lynn Barker Steinmayer requested $100 to replenish petty cash. This request was approved.
The committee approved an expenditure of up to $80.00 for a camera to be used with Skype in conjunction with the Great Decisions program. Lynn Barker Steinmayer will provide the committee with information about the various camera models and also a recommendation.
There will be two, and possibly three, guest speakers who will be contributing to the Great Decisions program. The books for this program are scheduled for delivery the week of January 3. Copies of the books will be provided to the guest speakers. The program begins on January 23, 2012.
The Vintage Cinema series starts on Friday, January 6, 2012 at noon. Attendees are invited to bring lunch. The library will provide dessert and coffee.
The committee is considering partnering with the Goshen Players to sponsor a performance of “The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales” which will be presented in late February and early March. Under the terms of the agreement, the Friends of the Goshen Library would be responsible for advertising and promotion. There are a total of 139 seats which are being sold at $10 each. The Goshen Players will receive $695 regardless of the number of tickets sold. Lynn Barker Steinmayer will provide a copy of the contract for review. The committee is considering sponsoring the 1:00 p.m. performance on February 25, 2012. “The Stinky Cheese Man” is the first children’s production put on by the Goshen Players.
The next meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m. on February 7, 2012.
